Like the average person in Malaysia (and probably around the world), I was brought up to think that I have to get good grades so that I can get a good job in the working world. And if I can do both of these, then my life is set. This is what my parents thought me and they instilled this belief so much so that when I graduated at 21, I immediately started working.

I worked as a Salesperson in an IT company and was making good money. But by the end of the month, it always seems like there's only so little money left. And I was working so hard that by the age of 30, I was burnt out. 

I knew something was wrong. I was merely selling my time for money and I know that I only have limited time to sell. And as I grow older I would run out of time to sell. The Book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" changed and formed many of my investment mindset. And I started experimenting financial markets soon after I read this great book!

I experimented with Real Estate, Affiliate Marketing, Stock Trading, and even Options Trading. I failed and failed but never gave up. I continued until I became decently good at all of them. And built a decent stream of income of these investments. And that gave me the freedom to do whatever I want.

However, I must say that while I still make good income from these avenues, it is certainly not for everyone.

To be in the stock market, you have to have big trading capital.
And the risk is much higher if you do not know what you are doing.

To be in affiliate marketing, you might need to have a good marketing mind.
Perhaps even some copywriting skills and plenty of patience for this to work.

To be in Real Estate, the cash flow that you generate is so small that you make not even pay for your car installment. Maybe I am doing it wrong but I have always felt that Real Estate is excellent for the longer term (probably for capital preservation and for the next generation)...

To be in direct marketing, you risk losing friends and family as you probably start by selling to them

Like I mentioned, I was doing decent in all of the above today because I failed so many times and I continue learning one by one until I became quite good at each of them. But still money was not flowing in fast enough (in my opinion). Until I was introduced to Forex Trading.
