Mayweather vs Pacquiao weigh-in replay

WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. gestures as he arrives at MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 28, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The money man: And he stands to earn $180million from tomorrow’s fight

The biggest fight in history – yet it will probably happen again in September

Our chief sports writer Dave Kidd believes there should be little doubt about a rematch happening.

“It’s the richest bout in boxing history. It’s The Fight of the Century.

“And yet the smart money says that, whatever happens at the MGM Grand Arena on Saturday night, they’ll be back here again in September.

“At 38, and with career earnings about to top £400million, Floyd Mayweather claims he has just one more fight left in him. If that’s so, then a re-match with Manny Pacquiao would earn him far more than any other contest.

“And while the flamboyant Filipino Pacquiao will provide the bish-bosh, for Money Mayweather, it’s all about the dosh.

“Pacquiao versus Mayweather pits the man-of-the-people showman against the hard-nosed businessman. The ‘reckless’ puncher, who’s been knocked out three times and beaten five, against the defensive master craftsman with the flawless 47-fight record. Southpaw against orthodox. And, if you believe Pacquiao’s camp, it’s good against evil too.”
