EURUSD produced a Spinning top last week. Although there were number of news events that could have given the pair a direction, but that did not happen. EURUSD traders have number of news events to encounter next week as well. Let us have a look at those events and their possible impact on the pair.

Wednesday - 11^th January - Crude oil inventories- 3.30 PM GMT

This is a high impact news event. Especially for those who trade on intra-day time frame. This new event has the tendency to produce long spike on the intra-day charts.

Thursday - 12^th January - Unemployment claims- 1.30 PM GMT

EURUSD traders have to give extra emphasis on this news event next week. The forecast is 266 K for this week. Last 4 weeks’ actual numbers were less than the forecasts on three occasions. Last 4 weeks’ average claim is 255 K. Thus, we assume that this week’s claim should be less than the forecast. If it is not, then EURUSD might go up to find its resistance.

Friday - 13^th January - Fed chair Yellen speaks- 12.00 AM GMT

This news event could produce huge volatility on the pair as well. The timing of the news event does not suggest that the pair would react much to the news event. Nevertheless, it is better to keep this on EUROUSD traders’ trading diary.

Friday - 13^th January - Core retail sales m/m

  All of these new events are scheduled to take place at 1.30 PM GMT. Traders be careful with your running trade since that is going to be the last session of the next week as well.

Friday - 13^th January - Prelim UoM consumer sentiment- 3 PM GMT

This is the last high impact news event for the next week. It would not give any trading opportunity, but hunt trader’s stop loss instead.
